HIGHLIGHTS

Aceso Global prepared a series of policy briefs for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) addressing critical challenges in strengthening health systems across Asia and the Pacific. The first brief explores practical pathways for implementing integrated primary care, drawing on country examples from Lao PDR, Thailand, Bangladesh, and the Philippines, and emphasizing the need to overcome common implementation barriers with targeted policy levers. The second brief focuses on expanding rural hospital access, urging the use of geospatial analysis and place-based planning to prioritize underserved communities, while highlighting cost, workforce, and quality challenges unique to rural settings. The third brief examines the role of regional and sub-regional public health institutions in pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response, emphasizing lessons from COVID-19 and the need for stronger, more coordinated regional mechanisms that respect sovereignty while enabling collective action. Together, these briefs provide actionable insights to guide equitable, resilient, and integrated health system reforms across the region.
