Maureen Lewis has spent over 25 years advising government and private sector leaders around the world on health system reforms. Dr. Lewis has held a variety of management and leadership positions in global health, including Chief Economist for Human Development at the World Bank. She is the author of more than 75 research publications and working papers and five books, and is a member of numerous international organizations including the Council on Foreign Relations  Dr. Lewis speaks frequently for private, public and nonprofit audiences across the globe. She has a PhD in Economics from Johns Hopkins University.

Jerry La Forgia is a leader in global health and hospitals.  He was formerly Lead Health Specialist for China at the World Bank, leading the dialogue and analytic work for Vice-Premier Liu Yandong in the country’s healthcare reform agenda, as well as the World Bank’s Lead Health Specialist in India and Brazil. His major areas of research include hospital governance and management, quality of care, health insurance, and public-private partnerships for health service delivery. He has worked in these areas across Latin America, South Asia and East Asia. He has an Sc.D. in Health Service Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

Ann Casanova is an international development advisor with more than 20 years of experience providing vision, strategy, and management of development projects and publications for the Global Fund, the International Finance Corporation (private sector lending arm of the World Bank Group), the Inter-American Development Bank, and USAID.  She has a strong background in leading international, multi-disciplinary teams to bring innovative solutions to solve complex development problems in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. For Aceso Global, she oversaw the development of a key study for The Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis, and Malaria on private sector engagement that resulted in recommendations being incorporated into the 2023-2028 strategy. For IFC, she authored numerous publications that promoted global learning on successful health service delivery and business models that are innovative and efficient, and which provide better health outcomes at a lower cost. For the Inter-American Development Bank, she served in the front office of the Country Department for Central America, where she advanced the objectives established under the Agenda for a Better Bank. Ann holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and is licensed to practice law in Florida. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Marianne Enciso is a health systems researcher with experience in primary health care, health workforce, vaccine-introduction, and injury-related policies in LMICs. She has previously worked at the World Bank - evaluating strategies influencing health worker performance in Sub-Saharan African, Asian, and Latin American countries. Marianne also has worked on a Bill & Melinda Gates-funded project developing a resource toolkit for vaccine introduction in LMICs and a Bloomberg-funded project analyzing injury-related policies in the Philippines. Before venturing into global health, she had experience working in clinical trials in the US and private sector consultancy in the Philippines. Marianne holds an MSPH in International Health – Health Systems from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, with a concentration in health economics and health finance/management. She speaks fluent Filipino.

Emma Morris is a Program Manager at Aceso Global working on health system financing and sustainability in LMICs. She currently supports a project focused on stakeholder collaboration and innovative financing mechanisms in a range of countries. Before joining Aceso, Emma conducted research on violence, stress, and women’s health in LMICs and interned at John Snow Inc, where she supported several USAID projects focused on HIV, RMNCH, and health systems strengthening in Africa and Central and Southeast Asia. Emma received her BSFS in Science, Technology, and International Affairs with a concentration in Global Health at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She also has minors in French and International Development.

Anne Coyne is a Program Manager at Aceso Global focusing on health economics and health system structures in LMICs. She currently supports a wide range of projects, including strengthening financing schemes in Malaysia and a meta-analysis of the COVID-19 impact on health systems in emerging markets. She also assists with graphic design with the Aceso communications team. Prior to joining Aceso Global, Anne worked at a refugee resettlement agency operating within the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia areas. Anne received her BSFS in Science, Technology, and International Affairs with a concentration in Business, Growth, and Development at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She also has a minor in Psychology and a certificate in International Development.

Esteban Bermúdez researches global healthcare systems with a focus on efficiency, quality, and management training in the pursuit of Universal Health Coverage. He supports an array of project teams, including providing technical support for Aceso Global’s work on Population Targeting mechanisms and e-Consultations rollout for the Joint Learning Network (JLN). He also supports Aceso Global’s work on reducing health equity gaps faced by those living in extreme poverty in the Salud Mesoamérica Initiative -- focused on Quality Improvement mechanisms and training in Honduras. Prior to joining Aceso, Esteban interned at GreenMomentum (NGO) in Mexico City, Mexico where he provided research support for the Market Intelligence Team. He holds a double bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Relations from The College of William & Mary. He speaks Spanish and Italian.
