Aceso Global provided 16 weeks of 2 hour sessions delivered virtually on strategic purchasing as they are moving toward contracting out for healthcare services with the private sector. This training brought to bear the key elements needed to design and implement effective contracting out arrangements with the private sector. The sixteen-class curriculum covered global experiences in strategic purchasing, a hands-on review of existing purchasing procedures in Malaysia, and a collaborative workshop to set a strategic direction for the Ministry and their subsidiary purchasing organization. Following the course, Aceso Global’s experts were invited to discuss health system strengthening, contracting methods, and public-private partnerships with the Minister of Health to set a health policy agenda for the new Malaysian government.
