Elise is an infectious disease epidemiologist. She currently works with Aceso Global on Public Health Emergencies and Emerging Diseases in the ASEAN region. She previously worked for the UK Health Security Agency for more than 7 years, implementing vaccination programs, monitoring vaccine coverage and managing national routine surveillance systems. Working in the National COVID-19 Vaccines and Epidemiology Division, Elise did epidemiological analyses, responded to outbreaks and provided input for national risk registers. She worked extensively on the National Immunization Register, which collected COVID-19 vaccines records in England, and conducted COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness and safety analyses. Elise also worked on developing enhanced address matching methods to evaluate the transmissibility of COVID-19 and the burden of disease in vulnerable settings, including care homes and prisons. Elise holds a BSc in Biology (Mount Allison University), a Masters in Global Health (University of Barcelona) and an MSc in Epidemiology (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine). She is completing a PhD on evaluating the burden of Bordetella pertussis through epidemiological analyses of surveillance data at the University of Warwick.
